Ans: The Chief Justice and Judges of the High Courts are to be appointed by the President under clause (1) of Article 217 of the Constitution in consultation with chief Justice of India and Governor.

Ans: Kehar Singh was an Assistant in the Directorate General of Supply and Disposal, situated in New Delhi. He was accused of conspiracy in the killing of the then Prime Minister, Smt Indira Gandhi on the 31st of October, 1984.
